Are you tired of being a middle-aged man or woman and want to age up in Sims 4 on Windows and Mac? We don’t blame you, as your mid-life crisis probably finds the gameplay tedious. There are several approaches to this technique, but we’ll show you the three best ways that don’t seem sadistic or cheesy.
How To Age Up in Sims 4
No one really wants to talk about old age or dying in real life, but doing so in a simulated world is a different experience. It’s especially helpful if you’re playing as a teen in Sims 4 and want to break into adolescence sooner. Let’s show you the three methods we prefer.
Method 1: The birthday cake
This trick for aging up in Sims 4 works best for babies and toddlers. However, you can also perform it for other age groups. You’ll need to bake a cake, add candles, and then call a birthday party for the Sim in question. As soon as they blow out the candles, they will age.
Step 2: Cheating your life away
If you’re not fond of cooking, you can access the cheat console by pressing Control-Shift- C. When the cheat window appears, insert ‘testingcheats true’ and press Enter to enable cheats. Finally, place ‘cas.fulleditmode’ and enter, and you’ll be able to modify your Sim’s age.
Step 3: Shortening your lifespan
If you still want your Sim to age naturally while not having to deal with patience, you can change the game settings. There’s a feature called lifespan that you can lengthen or shorten as you wish. If you change it from Normal to Short, your character will age a lot quicker, giving you shorter gameplay.
Old before your time
Getting old for real isn’t fun, but it can be in Sims 4. The way you choose to do it is up to you, even if you want to consume the essence of a dead Sim after the Cow Plant eats them. We decided to exclude this morbid method from our list.
